The 23rd Annual Construction in Indian Country (CIIC) National Conference is a one-of-a-kind event that brings together Tribal Leaders, Tribal community members, and construction professionals from across Indian Country.

September 30 is a day to honor Residential School Survivors, their families, and Indigenous communities, while recognizing the lasting impacts of Canada’s residential school system.
It is an opportunity to listen, learn, and deepen our understanding of the intergenerational effects of residential schools. It also invites us to reflect on our shared responsibility to support truth, healing, and reconciliation.
🧡 The orange shirt has become a symbol of the loss of culture, freedom, identity, and self-esteem experienced by many Indigenous children in the residential school system.
🧡 CIIC stands in solidarity as we remember the children who never returned home, honor Residential School Survivors and their families, and recognize the importance of continuing the journey toward truth, healing, and reconciliation.

We’re excited to introduce Eric Shepherd, one of the presenters for Construction 101 & 102, a pre-conference workshop taking place Wednesday Oct. 21, from 9:00 AM–4:00 PM at Gila River Resort & Casino – Vee Quiva.

This workshop is a day before the 23rd Annual Construction in Indian Country National Conference. Separate registration is required, and lunch is included.

With more than 32 years of construction industry experience, Eric is a senior construction executive who has led complex projects and strategic market growth across Native American communities, healthcare, education, aviation, public safety, and federal sectors.

As Market Leader for Willmeng Construction's Native American division, Eric specializes in building trusted partnerships, developing culturally aligned project delivery strategies, and leading high-performing teams that deliver exceptional results.

Throughout his career, Eric has guided major tribal and healthcare initiatives, including medical campuses, community schools, housing, infrastructure, and public facilities. His expertise includes preconstruction, design-build, CMAR, stakeholder engagement, strategic business development, and operational leadership.
