Our Capital Scholars cohort is halfway through their Washington, D.C. experience! This incredible group of students have been working hard at internships they secured with Congress, fundraising and lobbying firms, nonprofits and more. They’re learning together how to navigate the city, step outside of their comfort zones, manage their time and create lasting professional relationships.

But don’t worry, they’re fitting in time for fun, too! 🙌 They’ve watched World Cup games together, enjoyed July 4th fireworks from their roof and even made a quick stop in New York for the final Knicks game. We can’t wait to see what else this incredible group accomplishes this summer!

“Democracy is a process, not a static condition. It is becoming, rather than being. It can easily be lost, but never is fully won. Its essence is eternal struggle.” — William Hastie, the first African American federal judge, 1946.As America marks its semiquincentennial, it’s a time to reflec...
