Lambda Sigma Gamma-Alpha Alpha Chapter at ASU

On November 3, 2012 five dedicated women became sisters of Lambda Sigma Gamma Sorority, Inc. and Founding Mothers of the Alpha Alpha Chapter.
1.

The purposes of this association are to instill the desire for self-improvement, scholastic excellence, and the cultivation of civic responsibility; also to promote unity and higher education amongst women. Katherine "pAAx" Zavala

g awareness and support to early Education. Our responsibility and commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of children continually guides our efforts. We do this by giving back to our communities via scholarships, fundraisers, donations, contributions, partnerships, volunteerism and other various philanthropic programs at each of our respective chapters.*

The Alpha Alpha chapter of Lambda Sigma Gamma Sorority, Inc. would like to shout out our sister Charlie Drnevich on graduating with her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology.

🌹Why did you pick your major?

I’d like to become a DO, but psychology was innately easy for me.

🌹Who Inspires you?

My desire to help people, especially those who want to do better but don’t know how. I’d like to help patients not only help themselves, but educate them and their families to promote better heath in future generations.

🌹 What are you planning on doing now that you graduated?

Study MCAT, volunteer, and apply to med school! Continue traveling of course, catch more shows.

🌹 What is some advice you would like to give a freshmen entering college?

Stay on top of your diet, sleep, and work out as much as possible!

🌹Why did you pick your major?
I picked my major because I want to help people around my community and also help people in need for justice. I am a person who cares a lot for people around me and I would like to see people being taken care of instead of being scared of certain enforcement. I want to make a change in the world without people being scared because that’s not how it should be. Love over hate🫶🏼

🌹Who Inspires you?
The person who inspired me throughout my entire academic journey is my mom. She has always shown me that hard work truly pays off. Watching her balance 3 kids and 3 jobs while still accomplishing her goals is something I will always admire. She has been my biggest supporter through it all, and I’m forever grateful for everything she does. I love my mama 💗

🌹 What are you planning on doing now that you graduated?

After I graduate I am planning to dive into career paths that I can get into as a fresh graduate and work my way up to the top. The main goal is to become a crime scene investigator or a detective.

🌹 What will you miss about being an Undergraduate/Grad Student?
I’ll forever cherish the memories my undergrad years gave me and all the relationships I’ve built along the way. I’m so grateful for everyone who made these years unforgettable and supported me throughout my journey.

🌹 What is some advice you would like to give a freshmen entering college?

Don’t let anybody tell you that you can’t do it. College is hard at first when you don’t know anyone or anything, but it truly gets better. Moving from my small town of Prescott to Phoenix on my own pushed me out of my comfort zone, but it led to unforgettable memories and lifelong friendships. Don’t let fear hold you back.

This Mother’s Day, we also remember and honor the mothers and mother figures who may no longer be with us physically, but are always with us in spirit. 💐🤍

As this school year comes to an end, we would like to take a moment to look back at some of our favorite memories. This year has been filled with so much growth, laughter, sisterhood, and unforgettable moments. From late nights and campus events to celebrating milestones together, every memory has helped shape our chapter and strengthen our bond. College memories + LSG sisters = the perfect combination 🌹✨ We are beyond grateful for every sister, every lesson, and every moment that made this year so special. Here’s to the memories we created and the many more still to come.

🌹Why did you pick your major?

I chose social work because I really want to help kids and speak up for those who don’t always have a voice. I’ve always cared a lot about helping others and making a difference. I’m naturally empathetic, so connecting with people and supporting them just comes naturally to me.

Always remember why you started, especially during the tough moments. Stay focused on your goals, but don’t be afraid to ask for help and grow along the way.

On this Denim Day, the women of Lambda Sigma Gamma Sorority, Inc. stand in unity to raise awareness about sexual violence and to challenge the harmful narratives that continue to blame survivors. What someone wears is never an invitation or consent—no one ever asks to be harmed.

As a sisterhood rooted in culture, education, and empowerment, we are committed to creating spaces where survivors are supported, believed, and heard. We wear denim today not just as a symbol, but as a statement: we reject victim-blaming, we uplift one another, and we advocate for respect and accountability in our communities.

Today and every day, Lambda Sigma Gamma stands for awareness, action, and unwavering support for survivors.

Why LSG? I chose LSG because I wanted to push myself out of my comfort zone and find a new community. Why LSG?: I chose LSG because these women don’t just inspire me, they challenge me to grow into the strongest, most well-rounded version of myself. As the oldest daughter and granddaughter, I’ve always had to navigate life on my own, without the guidance I often wished for. But from the moment I met these women, I felt a warmth and belonging I had never experienced before. In this sisterhood, every success is celebrated, every voice is valued, and every woman is uplifted. For the first time, I’m not walking alone.
