We are incredibly proud to celebrate our very own CAPT Latonia Ford on receiving two distinguished 2026 honors!

🏆 2026 Uniformed Services Nurse of the Year Award
Presented by the National Black Nurses Association (NBNA), this honor recognizes Soror Ford’s excellence in nursing leadership, service, and her outstanding contributions as a nurse serving in the Uniformed Services.

🎓 2026 DNPs of Color Professional Development Scholarship
This scholarship recognizes and supports Soror Ford’s continued doctoral education and professional development as she pursues her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), with a focus on nursing leadership, health equity, and community health.

This month, FWAC encourages our community to give blood, give hope, and help save lives.

Black blood donors are especially needed because closely matched blood can be critical for sickle cell warriors who may require frequent blood transfusions.

🔴 You can still donate blood if you have sickle cell trait.
🔴 It takes about an hour and your donation could save someone’s life!

🎬✨ The Petting Zoo Production Team is honored to announce that our film has been selected for Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated’s annual Crimson Reel Film Festival! ❤️🤍🎞️

The Crimson Reel Film Festival celebrates the legacy of Delta Sigma Theta’s 22 Founders through 22 independent film selections created by members of the organization. This year’s selections will be showcased virtually for members of the sorority from September 27–October 4.

We’re especially proud that Petting Zoo’s above-the-line team includes three phenomenal members of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated:
