🎉 Hispanic Heritage Festival Recap!
Thank you to everyone who joined us on September 29 for an incredible Hispanic Heritage Festival! The afternoon was a vibrant celebration of Hispanic culture, heritage, talent, and community, bringing together more than 500 students, faculty, staff, local leaders, and community members. ❤️
We enjoyed an amazing lineup of performances and special guests, including:
💃 Ballet Folklorico Alma Latina
🎶 Red Lick Middle School
🎵 Pleasant Grove High School Spanish Class
🌟 La Sociedad Hispana Honoraria de Texas High School
🎤 Nash Elementary Voices of Leaders
We were honored to hear from Mrs. Lilliana Luna, TC Trustee and Nash Elementary Principal, and Kevin Stuckey of Red River Credit Union.
A special highlight was recognizing local leaders and Texarkana College alumnae Fernanda Hernandez and Thalia Rojas for their contributions to our community. We also celebrated Miss Texarkana Latina Cris Peña, the first representative from Texarkana to compete as Miss Latina Texas. 👑
And, of course, no festival is complete without delicious food! 🌮 Guests enjoyed nachos from Juanito’s Food Truck, Mexican treats from Casita Sweets, and aguas frescas and elote provided by our very own TC Hispanic Student Association.
A heartfelt thank-you to the Student Life Team and Hispanic Student Association for their hard work in planning and coordinating this special event, and to all of our performers, speakers, sponsors, food vendors, volunteers, community partners, and everyone who attended.
Thank you for helping us celebrate the richness of Hispanic culture and the strength of our community! ❤️💚 Check out more photos here https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjD6p4N
