It's official: Manhattan College Parkway has been co-named Manhattan University Way. ✨

The new street sign was unveiled this afternoon at the intersection of Manhattan College Parkway and Waldo Avenue, but this isn't the first time this street has changed monikers. In 1953, it was renamed from Spuyten Duyvil Parkway to Manhattan College Parkway. Today's co-naming reflects the University's more recent shift from Manhattan College to Manhattan University; a change made to its corporate charter in 2024.

The ceremony featured remarks from Manhattan University President Frederick Bonato, Ph.D., NYC Councilmember Eric Dinowitz, Assemblymember Jeffrey Dinowitz, and Bronx Community Board 8 Vice Chair Bob Bender, who are all pictured from left to right in the second photo. Professors Mehnaz Afridi, Ph.D., and Margaret Groarke, Ph.D., also spoke, sharing their own reflections on what this recognition means for the University and the broader community it serves.

There’s nothing quite like the energy of the Fall Club Fair! ✨

Students packed Smith Auditorium to meet the leaders behind our many clubs, ask questions, and find the communities that fit their interests. It’s a great reminder that getting involved on campus is one of the best ways to make Manhattan feel like home. Whether it’s a club sport, a cultural organization, or a professional society, there’s a community for every Jasper! 💚

Manhattan University has been recognized as one of Money Magazine's Best Colleges in America for 2026. 🎉

Money, the personal finance media brand, evaluated more than 2,400 four-year public and private nonprofit colleges nationwide, ranking schools on the value they provide students. Only 735 institutions met every requirement to be considered, and those schools were then ranked on 25 factors across three categories: quality of education, affordability, and outcomes.

Manhattan University joins a select group of institutions nationwide included in this year's rankings. We couldn't be prouder of our Jasper community, whose dedication and drive make recognitions like this possible. 💚

Yesterday, our campus got a visit from two literary masterminds, courtesy of the James Patterson Honors Program. 📚💚

James Patterson, Manhattan University Class of 1969, was joined by fellow best-seller Mike Lupica for a conversation covering their creative process, how they collaborate with one another, and how they balance demanding careers with their personal lives. The two have teamed up on five books together: "Horsewoman" (2021), "The House of Wolves" (2023), "12 Months to Live" (2023), "Hard to Kill" (2024), and "Never Say Die" (2025).

The turnout of the event said it all: a packed house of students, faculty, staff, and neighbors from Riverdale, all there for the love of a good story.

The James Patterson Honors Program was built for moments like this, and it's only getting started. Thank you to James Patterson and Mike Lupica for spending time with our Jaspers, and to everyone who came out and made yesterday one to remember.
