This morning, the Brothers of Joppa Lodge No. 43, PHA F&AM came together to finish the month of August strong through service, brotherhood, and community!

We were blessed to partner with our Sisters of American Beauty Chapter No. 214, PHA O.E.S., Minne L. Washington No. 34-A PHA O.G.C., and local citizens to conduct a Late Summer House Cleaning & Community Giveaway. Together, we collected and donated household items, adult clothing, children’s clothing, children’s toys, hygiene products, party supplies, shoes, furniture, pictures, movies, and 15 BIG boxes of books!

These donations were divided and distributed throughout our community to Fountain of Life Rescue-Thomas County, Thomas-Grady Service Center, which serves individuals with developmental disabilities, and a local family who recently lost everything in a devastating house fire.

A HUGE shoutout and THANK YOU to a private donor who blessed us with 15 boxes of brand-new and gently used books and movies for our community giveaway! Because of this generous donation, we were also able to bless four Little Free Libraries throughout the inner city, filling them with books for readers of all ages.

And YES… you heard that right — FOUR DIFFERENT DROP-OFFS IN ONE DAY!

Joppa is proud to continue being a Lodge of Service. We don’t just talk about giving back — WE SHOW UP!

This past Tuesday, the brothers of Joppa Lodge No. 43, PHA F&AM who are also members of Clifford Temple CME Church came together to serve and help feed our local first responders. 🙏🏾❤️

A huge THANK YOU to Clifford Temple CME Church for extending the invitation and allowing us to be part of such an amazing community event. It was a true blessing to come together, give back, and show appreciation to the brave men and women who serve and protect our community every day.

This evening, the Brothers of Joppa Lodge No. 43, PHA F&AM proudly came together to support our Life Member, Brother Arthur Jones, and his family as his wife, Dr. Hazel T. Jones, received a well-deserved honor from Thomasville City Schools.

In recognition of her 36 years of dedicated service as an educator, principal, and her 17 years of service on the Thomasville City Board of Education, the street turnaround at Harper Elementary School was officially dedicated as “Dr. Hazel T. Jones Way.”

Congratulations to Dr. Hazel T. Jones, Brother Arthur Jones, and the entire Jones family on this remarkable achievement. Joppa Lodge No. 43 is honored to celebrate this special milestone with one of our own.

Today at 3:00 PM, the Brothers of Joppa Lodge No. 43, PHA proudly kicked off the 3rd Annual Adopt-A-Teacher Initiative by honoring this year’s adopted educator, Mrs. Allison Ponder, Media Specialist for Thomasville High School serving students in grades 9-12.

This year has been our biggest collaboration yet, and we are incredibly grateful for the eight outstanding organizations, churches, businesses, and every Masonic body that calls our Masonic Hall home for partnering with us to make a difference. Because of your generosity and commitment to education, Mrs. Ponder’s entire Amazon Wish List was fulfilled! Seeing the smile on her face reminded us exactly why we continue this initiative each year.

Congratulations to our lucky winner, Mr. Timothy Hopkins! Mr. Hopkins purchased the winning ticket from PM Harris King, and was officially presented with his prize by PM Oscar Jackson today.

Yesterday, the Brothers of Joppa Lodge No. 43, PHA had the pleasure of attending the Thomasville Masonic District No. 10 Annual District Picnic in Cairo, Georgia. A huge thank you to Ezekiel Lodge No. 71 and Dorothy Edwards Chapter No. 36, O.E.S. for hosting such a wonderful event.

Last night, our Worshipful Master, Bro. Dr. Christian Pittman, had the pleasure of attending the monthly business meeting of Nehemiah Lodge 138 PHA in Moultrie, GA.

Thank you to Worshipful Master Stefan R Reynolds Sr. and the brothers of Nehemiah Lodge No. 138 for the warm welcome and invitation. We truly appreciate the fellowship and look forward in having you all come to Joppa soon.
