Now she is coming back to SRTC as our new Early Childhood instructor at SRTC-Bainbridge!
We couldn't be more excited to welcome Chasity back to the SRTC family in a whole new way. Bainbridge students, you are in incredible hands! ๐
Chasity Holley is an SRTC alumna who took advantage of one of our many articulation agreements with area colleges and universities. She was able to transition seamlessly between her associate degree at here SRTC and her bachelorโs degree at Albany State University.
In her own words:
โThe Early Childhood Care and Education program at Southern Regional Technical College was one of the most rewarding experiences in my life. When I chose to pursue an associate degree in Early Childhood Care and Education, I did not realize the lifelong friendships and partnerships I would make along the way. I had some of the most amazing instructors. Letitia Austin quickly became a mentor for me during my time at SRTC, and after. The SRTC Early Childhood Associates program gave me the firm foundation I needed before I pursued my bachelor's degree.
Before graduating from SRTC in July of 2019, I knew I had to start looking at universities to transfer to obtain my bachelor's degree in early childhood education. Albany State University was my immediate first choice for several reasons. The bridge program with SRTC and ASU was a smooth transition for me. Before graduating I had someone who reached out to me and guided me through the application process. I also loved that ASU had an off-campus location in Cairo that I could attend. I also didnโt have to wait a long period of time after graduation to attend ASU. After I graduated in July of 2019 from SRTC, I began my studies at ASU the very next month. I graduated from ASU in May of 2023, and I am currently pursuing my masterโs in Early Childhood Education from ASU.โ
Letitia Austin is the Liaison for Albany State University Off-Campus Programs. As a guide and mentor for Chasity, she has watched her grow and achieve along her educational journey.
โAs a university instructor, I have worked with several students who have substantial knowledge in early childhood education, however, there are rare cases where I have students with a unique flare and an abundance of creativity. Chasity Holley stood out in most of my classes. I found her as a student who was always eager to learn new things and one with an outstanding work ethic. She is well versed in several areas that will enhance her teaching abilities and student achievement. She is proficient in communicating with both students and adults. Currently, she is delivering instruction in her own classroom while implementing what she has learned at both Southern Regional Technical College and Albany State University.โ
Chasity, we are honored that you chose to , and so proud of how far you are going with your education!
