I enjoyed joining John Holcomb on the Georgia Farm Bureau podcast to talk about ABAC, our agricultural heritage, and our commitment to preparing students through relevant, hands-on learning experiences.
Agriculture remains the foundation of who we are, but our mission is broader: preparing graduates who will strengthen the industries, communities, and rural economies that keep Georgia moving forward.
Thank you to John and the Georgia Farm Bureau for the opportunity to share the ABAC story.

It was a pleasure to attend yesterday’s State of Healthcare at the Georgia Museum of Agriculture. I was proud to see Dr. Joseph Falcone represent ABAC and the School of Nursing, Health and Natural Sciences on a distinguished panel of healthcare and industry leaders. I also enjoyed spending time with Dr. Yvonne Smith, Dr. Heather Cathcart, Dr. Susan Clements and Jennifer Morrell over lunch and appreciated the thoughtful discussions about the future of healthcare in our communities. Thanks to Dr. Inna Estepp for also helping with the event.

One of the most special moments of the Regents’ Scholarship Gala this past weekend was seeing our own Mrs. Rosalyn Donaldson honored with the Alumni and Distinguished Friends Award. It was an honor to accept this recognition on her behalf, as she was unable to attend the gala. ❤️

For 35 years, Mrs. Donaldson shaped the lives of more than 15,000 ABAC students. Since her retirement, her love for ABAC has only grown stronger. Her generosity, mentorship, and unwavering commitment to our college have touched generations of students, faculty, and staff. She truly embodies what it means to be a lifelong champion of ABAC.

The “Sea of Dreams” theme was a beautiful reminder of how scholarships help students pursue their dreams and chart a course toward a brighter future. The gala supported Georgia DREAMS, a new need-based aid scholarship program, and it is exciting to be part of Georgia’s first statewide need-based aid program.

I was proud to attend alongside ABAC colleagues who share that same commitment to helping our students and our college thrive.

Congratulations, Mrs. Donaldson. We are so proud of you and grateful for the remarkable legacy you continue to build at ABAC. 🤍

Monday, we welcomed the ABAC Class of 2030 during one of my favorite traditions of the academic year, Convocation.

More than 800 first-year students gathered in Gressette Gymnasium, making this the largest freshman Convocation audience in ABAC history. Before the ceremony, our faculty and staff lined the entrance to welcome our newest Stallions, cheering them on as they entered the gym and began their journey as members of the ABAC family.

It was an honor to join Dr. Jason Goodner, Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs, and Ryan Hogan, Vice President of Enrollment, Marketing, and Communication, in welcoming these students to campus. We were also inspired by remarks from our student leaders, including Ethan Bertram, SGA President, and Emily Bolen and Wendy Gonzalez Huerta, Co-Presidents of the Stallion Society.

A special thank you to Dr. Nicholas Urquhart, Rachel Frantz, Shawn Burnette, the Academic Ceremonies Committee, Stallion Society leaders, faculty, and staff who helped create such a meaningful beginning to the academic year.

The highlight of the day was seeing the Class of 2030 gathered in front of Tift Hall, forming “2030” on the lawn. It was a powerful symbol of both the future of ABAC and the promise each of these students brings to our campus.

Welcome to ABAC, Class of 2030. Your future starts here, and we are excited to be part of your journey.

Yesterday's All College Meeting was a great way to kick off a new academic year at ABAC.

Faculty and staff came together to reflect on our shared mission, celebrate our accomplishments, and look ahead to the opportunities before us as we continue to RISE. We were honored to welcome keynote speaker Dr. Keith M. Eigel, whose presentation, Leadership: Growing on Purpose, encouraged us to be intentional about how we lead, learn, and grow.

After the meeting, we gathered in Tift Hall for a picnic-style lunch, with hamburgers and hotdogs grilled outside. It was a wonderful opportunity to enjoy time together, reconnect with colleagues, and build the sense of community that makes ABAC such a special place.

Thank you to Dr. Eigel for sharing his expertise and leadership insights, and thank you to everyone who helped make the day a success.

Now, we look forward to welcoming our students back to campus and beginning another outstanding semester. Here's to a great year ahead. Let's continue to RISE together! 💚💛🐎

One great teacher can change a classroom. That classroom can change a community. And that community can shape the future.

Like a pebble dropped into a pond, the impact of an outstanding educator creates a ripple effect that extends far beyond the walls of a school.

I’m proud of this new partnership between ABAC and Wiregrass Georgia Technical College, creating a seamless pathway for future educators to earn their bachelor’s degree and answer the growing need for teachers across rural Georgia.

Together, we’re not just preparing teachers, but investing in generations to come.

Future teachers, this one's for you!🍎🎓✨

ABAC and Wiregrass Georgia Technical College are making it easier than ever to turn your passion for education into a career! Through a new seamless transfer pathway to ABAC, aspiring educators can take the next step toward the classroom with confidence.

Together, we're shaping the next generation of teachers!

Happy Independence Day from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College!

As we celebrate our nation's freedom, we are also proud to celebrate a special milestone here at ABAC, the 50th anniversary of ABAC's Georgia Museum of Agriculture.

For five decades, the museum has preserved Georgia's rich agricultural heritage while creating lasting memories for families and visitors from across the state. Today, as we honor America's birthday, we also celebrate the history, traditions and community that make the GMA so special.

If you're looking for a great way to celebrate, I invite you to join us this evening at the Georgia Museum of Agriculture for the Great American Golden Jubilee. It's a wonderful opportunity to enjoy live entertainment, family-friendly activities, patriotic traditions and a spectacular fireworks show while celebrating both our nation's birthday and the museum's golden anniversary.

I hope you and your family have a safe, joyful and meaningful Fourth of July.

Happy Independence Day, and I hope to see you tonight at the Georgia Museum of Agriculture!

Happy Fourth of July from ABAC! ❤️🤍💙

Wishing our Stallion family a safe and happy Independence Day filled with family, friends, and fireworks.

Please note that ABAC will be closed on Monday, July 6, in observance of the holiday.

The 2026 Engage Summit in Charlotte was an incredible experience. With AI becoming more and more prevalent across Higher Education, the summit’s theme of the “Agentic Campus” was extremely important, and it was great to hear from colleagues on how institutions are maximizing the opportunities and solving the challenges that AI brings. Thank you to Element 451 for featuring me in the closing session, where we discussed how to take what we learned this week and put it into action. I am excited to get back to Tifton and start that process at ABAC.
