Murray State College Foundation Scholarship Recipient Highlight:

Mallory Sager, an Agriculture major from Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, has been awarded the Murray State College Climate-Smart Scholarship, established through grant funding from the Chickasaw Nation Department of Natural Resources and the Murray State College Agriculture Program. Mallory plans to teach Oklahoma high school students about the agriculture industry while sharing her knowledge and experiences with FFA. Passionate about working with youth, she is inspired by the mentorship she received in FFA and is committed to giving back to her community in the same way.

Murray State College Foundation Scholarship Recipient Highlight:

Matthew Patton, an Agriculture major from Tishomingo, Oklahoma, has been awarded the Murray State College Climate-Smart Scholarship, established through grant funding from the Chickasaw Nation Department of Natural Resources and the Murray State College Agriculture Program. With a lifelong passion for working with farm animals, Matthew also enjoys establishing honey bee hives and spending time outdoors. He hopes to use his education to develop more sustainable practices, pursue a career in natural resources, and continue investing in his community.

Oliva Alexander, an Elementary Education major from Tishomingo, Oklahoma, has been awarded the Murray State College Foundation Endowed Scholarship. Growing up with parents who were educators, she developed a passion for helping others reach their full potential. In high school, she also discovered a love for sports and social media. While she hopes to pursue a career in communications and sports media, she is earning a degree in elementary education as a solid foundation and backup plan.

Montana Shaw, a Nursing major from Ardmore, Oklahoma, has been awarded the John Gomez, IV and Edwin S. Pyle, Jr. Memorial Nursing Scholarship, funded by the Elizabeth Stobaugh Pyle Foundation to recognize high-achieving nursing students. Inspired by her personal experiences in hospitals and clinical settings, Montana has witnessed firsthand the vital role nurses play in providing immediate care and support to patients in need. This has motivated her to pursue the best education possible to make a meaningful impact on others in the future.

Murray State College Foundation Scholarship Recipient Highlight:

Osmanuel Socorro, an Agriculture major from Milburn, Oklahoma, has been awarded the prestigious Dora K. Gill Endowed Scholarship. This scholarship, established on February 23, 1987, through a bequest from the estate of Mr. Ed Gill—a longtime resident and historian of Johnston County—is awarded to graduating seniors of Milburn High School who demonstrate outstanding scholarship, leadership, and citizenship. Osmanuel is pursuing a degree in animal science, with the intention of providing care and treatment for animals that people rely on. He is passionate about inspiring others to work hard, achieve success, and make a meaningful impact in their communities.

Murray State College Foundation Scholarship Recipient Highlight:

Rhianna Ross, an Agriculture major from Milburn, Oklahoma, has been awarded the Lindsey Varner Memorial Scholarship, established by the Murray State College Collegiate FFA in honor of Vocational Agriculture teacher Lindsey Varner. This scholarship recognizes Agriculture majors who exemplify a strong work ethic, leadership, and a commitment to volunteerism. She first joined FFA in the eighth grade and has remained an active member ever since. With a deep passion for animal care, Rhianna aspires to work with animals in the future, whether as a veterinarian or by raising her own show stock. She is dedicated to educating others on the importance of proper animal care and welfare.

Rylie Hurley, an Agriculture major from Stratford, Oklahoma, has been awarded the Murray State College Climate-Smart Scholarship, funded through a grant from the Chickasaw Nation Department of Natural Resources and the Murray State College Agriculture Program. Her educational and career aspirations are driven by a deep-rooted desire to nurture and care for animals, a passion that has shaped her journey. Rylie hopes to open a veterinary clinic near her hometown, providing compassionate care for the pets and livestock of her loved ones and community.
