Murray State College Veterinary Nursing Veterinary Nursing program, founded in 1978 (oldest in Oklahoma), located in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. The First & Only Distance Learning Program in Oklahoma.

Certified Veterinary Assistant Program Available Both options are designed to provide basic principles, knowledge and skill development pertaining to care and handling of normal and abnormal animals. Veterinary Technicians are an integral member of the veterinary medical team. Areas of study include: veterinary nursing, nutritional counseling, anesthesiology, veterinary imaging, clinical pathology

, surgical nursing, dental hygiene and client education. Veterinary technician duties include all facets of veterinary medicine except diagnosis, prescribing medication and performing surgery. The Associate of Applied Science Degree and/or the credits in Veterinary Nursing are discipline specific and do not substitute for or transfer to pre-veterinary medical school curriculum.

Our Murray State College Veterinary Nursing students have been BUSY! 💙🤍
From a student organization meeting and representing MSC Vet Nursing at the Johnston County Fair, to hands-on learning in restraint, anesthesia, surgery and dental radiology, our students are gaining valuable experience every week!

It’s only week three, and they’re already learning, growing, and getting plenty of hands-on experience. 🐶🐱🩻

This fall is going to be a GREAT one! We can’t wait to see what our students accomplish! 💙🤍🐾

Fall 2026 is almost here, and we couldn't be more excited!

We're counting down the days until our halls are filled with smiling faces—both familiar and brand-new students. We can't wait to welcome everyone back for another semester of learning, growing, making memories, and caring for animals together.
