Some pretty remarkable things are happening at LSC-Tomball in our Vocal Studies area. Cross training - skill building - applicable technique - learning to adjust the instrument for stylistic needs - body and breath connection - singing from release rather than tension - an understanding of the science that makes the voice work - and MORE!

Come and join us. Professor Holly DiClaudio (award winning music director, graduate degree in music and voice from Peabody Conservatory - Johns Hopkins, successful studio teacher over a long trajectory of time) has room in her studio for the Fall 2026 semester. She is wonderful!

Technique matters. It's more than just a word. Repertoire - strategically chosen - coordinates with technical challenges appropriate for how a particular singer needs challenge. There are no cookie cutter plans at LSC-Tomball!

We'll visit about coursework offered this semester - music events and productions on the horizon - and a bit about rehearsal schedules

We'll talk about the mindset of an artist and what it takes to be a "Gritty Artist: Mindset and Mentality" - this is good stuff, friends!

It is geared for folks interested in advanced training and what the college is offering this coming year - you’ll explore mindset, take a look at calendars and new developments, preview opportunities and production approaches, rehearsal timelines, and repertoire.

Looking forward to seeing new faces!

There is still time to register for these two incredible classes that begin next week.

Note that Appreciating Music has a special emphasis on the history and development of music, including what the Greeks contributed to what we do today! Explore Greek philosophy towards music and the arts, among other topics (intellectual movements always preceded cultural shifts - musical shifts - it's a fascinating story!) - this is a fun class.

American Music asks the question "what makes American music distinctive?" And heavens to Betsy! There are many ways to think about this - so many rich layers to unpack. American Music is a hybrid class - Tuesdays face to face and Thursdays online, making it a bit easier on the schedule!

Both of these classes add to layers of historical understanding and enrich your enjoyment of music in everyday life!
