After advancing through the semifinal round, these five Washburn students are one step closer to turning their innovative business ideas into reality!

The finalists will take the stage on November 5 at 6:30 p.m. at the Bradbury Thompson Alumni Center to present their pitches and compete for top honors.

Students had the opportunity to connect with Topeka business professionals, hear from Jay T. Ladenburger about his career in sales, and gain insight into the experiences that have shaped his career.

Hosted in partnership with SME Topeka at Link Innovation Labs, the event gave students a chance to ask questions, make connections, and learn more about careers in the business world directly from local professionals.

Opportunities like this give our students valuable exposure to the business community and a chance to start building professional relationships while still in college. Thank you to SME Topeka, Jay T. Ladenburger, and everyone who joined!

Washburn School of Business students had the opportunity to attend the first meeting of the year for Sales & Marketing Executives of Topeka (SME) at Townsite Tower.

The evening featured Zach Molzer, Founder & Principal of Molzer Development , a Kansas City-based development company bringing new life to spaces through multifamily, mixed-use and historic redevelopment projects.

Thank you to SME Topeka for inviting our students to be part of the evening and giving them the opportunity to connect with and learn from professionals in the sales and marketing community!

On Monday, Beta Alpha Psi kicked off the year with its first meeting, featuring a panel of three Washburn graduates who are now serving as chief financial officers.

Students had the opportunity to hear about each panelist’s career journey, gain valuable insight into the accounting and finance industries, and ask questions about leadership, professional growth and preparing for life after graduation.

A special thank you to Amy Klotz of Advisors Excel, Kevin Rake of HME Inc. and James Martin of Fleet Fuels for returning to Washburn and sharing their experiences and advice with our students. We appreciate your continued support of the next generation of business professionals!
