Towson University’s Film, Audio and Media Arts Department invites applications for a tenure-track, 9-month Assistant Professor specializing in Audio Production. Candidate must have a Master of Fine Arts or doctorate degree in audio and media production, or a related field, received by June 2027. Preferred start date August 2027.
Qualifications:
Demonstrated expertise in digital audio workstation software is required; experience with Avid’s Pro Tools preferred. Demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following is required: studio sound recording and mixing, sound design for visual media, podcasting and/or radio production. Experience with audio over internet protocol (AoIP) systems, particularly Audinate’s Dante network, is preferred but not required. Demonstrated success in teaching, or demonstrated potential to teach audio production, audio studio, and/or audio broadcast courses at the undergraduate level is required. A demonstrated record of related scholarship/artistic research/professional activity is required. Applicants with additional specialties in multimedia production, live sound production, sound-based installation and media art, or sound theory and aesthetics are encouraged to apply.
