Protecting Our Great Lakes! đŸ›„ïžđŸŒŠ

Matt Moss (Class of 2017) is making waves as a Hydrographic Surveyor at ENTACT, where he takes immense pride in cleaning up our region’s lakes, rivers, and harbors.

His journey was built on NMC’s strong focus on natural resources, with some of his favorite memories made right aboard the college's training vessel, The Northwestern. NMC provided the foundation for his career and continues to support him post-graduation.

Inspired by his wife, Emily, and son, Eyas, he’s actively expanding his surveying team at ENTACT while earning his Certified Hydrographic Surveyor credential. đŸŠ‰đŸ’šđŸ’™đŸ©”

Adults 21 to 24 are jumping at the chance to earn a college degree from NMC, submitting more than half of total applications to Michigan Reconnect, when it recently opened to their age group.

Michigan Reconnect, the state scholarship that offers free in-district tuition to adult students who don’t previously have a degree or certificate, is again open to students 21 and older. Reconnect graduates and current students strongly recommend the program.

Caring for Northern Michigan! 💙đŸ©ș

As Chief Nursing Informatics Officer for Munson Healthcare, Tamara Putney, MSN, RN, NE-BC (Class of 2003), bridges technology and clinical care so healthcare teams can spend more time focusing on patient care. She’s especially proud of navigating the COVID-19 pandemic alongside her team and developing a regional stroke program that expanded access across Northern Michigan.

Tamara’s foundation started at NMC, where caring instructors set high expectations while truly believing in her potential. Inspired by the resilience and compassion of her colleagues, she brings holistic care and heart to everything she does.

Kick off the weekend by joining us for the First Annual Mike McIntosh Cruise on Friday, Sept. 11 at 7 p.m. All participating vehicles will receive a commemorative dash plaque!

Then return on Saturday for the 20th Annual Mike McIntosh Memorial Truck & Car Show and Block Party. Vehicle registration begins at 8 a.m. Trophies will be awarded throughout the day for best in show in each class.
