Last night we had the honor of presenting RW Jason Chaplin with his Grand Sword Bearer apron. It was an unforgettable evening for RW Jason Chaplin and Mt. Zion Lodge No. 311.

Over 60 Brothers, families, and children filled our Lodge with fellowship and support, making the night even more special for all of us.

We were also graced by the presence of our Deputy Grand Master, RW Oscar Alleyne, whose attendance made the occasion even more meaningful.

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate, support, and strengthen our Brotherhood. God bless our gentle Craft.

Wonderful District Deputy Grand Master Official Visit this evening at Masters Lodge No. 5.

Mt. Zion took home the traveling gavel. Our first solo one of the year!

Being appointed by the Grand Master to serve as Grand Sword Bearer is a tremendous honor, and receiving the apron is a special part of that journey.

This Monday is our first meeting of the Masonic year. We will be welcoming R:.W:. Michael Arce for a lecture on Jurisdictional Differences.

Dinner will be at 6:30 PM - chicken curry, rice, salad, and dessert.
Cost: $15

It was a busy Labor Day weekend for the Brothers of Mt. Zion Lodge. We helped man our Old 17th Masonic District booth at the Schaghticoke Fair, where we showed the community that we are still here and an active part of it. We met several gentlemen interested in the Craft and reconnected with Brothers from as far away as Massachusetts and Texas. It was a great chance for the Lodge to be visible and engaged with the community.

We closed out the weekend with a Labor Day BBQ at the Lodge. A great way to finish the holiday and get ready for the Masonic year ahead.

Brothers from Mt. Zion Lodge traveled out to Victor Lodge No. 660 this morning for fellowship, breakfast, and Masonic Light as Victor Lodge hosted a Ritual School of Instruction. We had our WM, SW, JW, SD, JD, and our immediate past DDGM in attendance. Masonic Education never stops.

On Saturday we were blessed to host the Grand Master’s One Day Class at the Troy Masonic Community Center. An amazing day of Freemasonry all around. There were 113 Brothers in attendance. 61 of which were Raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason. Three of Mount Zion‘s own were part of the class: Brother Liam Staley, Brother Akeem Grandison, and Brother Samer Nawasreh. Mt. Zion also had strong representation in the Degree work with five Brothers taking roles.

There literally was not an empty seat in the Lodge room! Such a special day. We were happy to be a part of it and share our space with Brothers throughout the state.

A busy weekend for the brothers at Mount Zion. On Friday evening we passed out over 100 bags of school supplies to members of our community at the yearly Troy Night Out event. Huge thank you to Bro Tim Stockton DSA, for organizing, coordinating, shopping, stuffing the bags, setting up the table, and everything else he did to make this event possible. Truly a worthy brother.

On Saturday, it was time for a rest and relaxation at Grafton State Park. Brothers and their families came out for a barbecue and some relaxation. W:. Jimmy Dilone did his thing on the grill, and there was more food than we could have possibly eaten. More photos to come!

Brothers from Mount Zion Lodge No. 311 will once again be participating in the annual Troy Night Out event. We will be at our table from 5 PM until 8 PM passing out school supplies donated by the brothers of the Lodge to children in our community. If you are a Mason and would like to attend and hang out at the table, please feel free to come by. Let’s show the community that we are still here and continue to be deeply involved. If you are a member of the community who needs school supplies then please come visit our table this Friday. (Address and details on the flyer below.)
