Associate Chair of Art and Design Chris Stagl recently got the opportunity to put down the gradebook and pick up the camera to collaborate with Troy Regional hospital and indirectly one of his recent graduates – now employed alumni, Emily Robbins. The 23 photography pieces are a collection of work that Stagl was commissioned to create this past summer and includes notable locations such as Downtown Troy, Pike County Lake, Charles Henderson High School and even some of the University’s hidden gems.

IDEA Empowerment Series turns local ideas into opportunities for impact in the community.

What began as an idea to give children entering foster care something better than a trash bag to carry their belongings has grown into a broader effort to provide support, dignity and hope to foster children and families across Pike County.

For Amanda Johnson, that journey reached a milestone when Fostering Hope was named the winner of Troy University’s IDEA Bank IDEA Empowerment Series and Competition, earning $7,000 to expand its work.
