The Hudson Valley Community College Foundation recently hosted its annual Gala at the Franklin Plaza ballroom in Troy, helping to round out the weeklong celebration of the inauguration of Dr. Michael S. Brophy as the college's eighth president.
With more than 250 community leaders, regional partners and generous donors in attendance, this event achieved a record-breaking milestone, raising over $175,000 to support vital student initiatives.
These funds will directly benefit scholarships, the Student Emergency Fund and the Honors College, ensuring that HVCC students continue to have the resources they need to thrive.

🏈 Homecoming at Hudson Valley!
Students, alumni, faculty, staff and friends of the college came together over the weekend for a Homecoming tailgate on Saturday to cheer on the Hudson Valley Vikings as they took on Erie Community College in a hard-fought Region III Championship game.
The matchup stayed neck and neck through the afternoon, with both teams battling until the very end. After heading into overtime tied, the Vikings fell just short, with Erie securing a 31–28 win.
The celebration capped off a memorable week honoring Hudson Valley’s history, community and future under the leadership of President Michael S. Brophy, who was formally installed as the college’s eighth president earlier in the week.
Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate and show their Viking pride! 💚
