Today, the members of the Alpha Beta Xi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. proudly embraced Dr. King’s vision of service by making a meaningful impact in our community.

We gathered to give a few areas of Sun Valley Elementary School new paint, cleaning and inspiring messages on the restroom doors. We enjoyed the laughter as we worked together to serve.

Through service to all mankind, we honor Dr. King’s enduring legacy of love, unity, and justice.

Additionally, we celebrated one Golden Sister alongside other esteemed Golden Sisters who have committed 50 years of service to their communities through the sorority. We are so happy to work alongside these ladies.

Happy 117th Founders’ Day, Sisters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®!

On this day, January 15th, 1908, nine visionary women at Howard University sparked a sisterhood that has grown into a global force for good.

From that first meeting in Miner Hall to today, we proudly stand as a sisterhood of over 360,000 members across 12 nations, including the U.S., Bahamas, Bermuda, Canada, UAE, Germany, Japan, Liberia, Nigeria, South Korea, South Africa, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

As we celebrate under the 2022-2026 Administration, and the theme ‘Soaring to Greater Heights of Service and Sisterhood,’ we honor the enduring legacy of our Founders, and continue to impact communities globally.

Here’s to 117 years of service, sisterhood, and soaring higher together!🩷💚
