First Year Experience at the University of Arizona School of Art Your studio art courses at the University of Arizona School of Art begin with the First Year Experience. Upgrade your creativity!

ART 100A MAPPING*
ART 100B SPACE*
ART 100C GAZE
ART 100D EXPERIENCE
ART 100E SURFACE*
ART 100F AMALGAM
ART 100G PROPAGANDA
ART 100J THE BODY

Beyond the three required themes, Mapping, Space, and Surface, you will custom-build your own experience with three additional workshops to fulfill First Year Experience requirements. The half-semester workshop courses break up the semester

into smaller, more focused and digestible packages—helping you to feather your professional art practice, while also promising more variety of practice and instruction. The sixteen-week semester is divided evenly into two eight-week Phases: Phase 1 and Phase 2. For a description of these courses, please review the University of Arizona General Catalog.
