Pima Community College Center for the Arts, located on the West Campus, consists of the Proscenium Theatre, Black Box Theatre, Recital Hall and the Louis Carlos Bernal Gallery. “Illuminations of Sacred Paper: Trudi Connolly” features intricate hand-cut paper collages by Tucson artist and scholar Trudi Connolly. Drawing on her background in comparative literature and years of study in the humanities, Connolly transforms fragments of printed materials into richly detailed works inspired by illuminated manuscripts. Through thousands of carefully arranged paper pieces, she explores themes of history, literature, domestic life, grief and desire, inviting viewers to consider how meaning, memory and knowledge are built from the fragments of everyday life.

This is a great opportunity for artists! If you’re a high school student or a community college student who’s thinking about becoming an art major, you’re strongly encouraged to attend National Portfolio Day on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2026, at the University of Arizona School of Art. University representatives from art schools around the country will meet with you to review your portfolio, offer constructive feedback and discuss their art programs.

National Portfolio Day is free and open to the public. The University of Arizona School of Art also hosted the event in 2025 and in 2024.

In this original work written and performed by Pima Theater students, and directed and choreographed by Chris Will and Claire Elise Hancock, the story of Neverland continues after Peter Pan and the Darlings have returned to London. When a mysterious plague causes the island’s inhabitants to lose their shadows, Tiger Lily and her friends set out across Neverland to find the mysterious Shadow Snatcher. Their journey takes them through a world of magic, friendship and adventure as they race to reclaim the stolen shadows and save Neverland before its magic disappears forever.

Check out the brand new artwork up for the "Quiet Pursuits: PaperWorks Sonoran Art Collective" exhibition in the Visual Arts Student gallery!

Students from the Gallery and Museum Practices course (ART 250) have been assisting gallery director, David Andres, with the installation. The new exhibition features 2D and 3D works from the local PaperWorks () Art Collective, a local Tucson non-profit dedicated to providing "educational and creative opportunities for all who love and work with and on paper."

The exhibition is now open from September 21st to October 30th. Please be sure to also stop by for the opening reception happening tomorrow, Wednesday, September 23rd, from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m up in the Visual Arts Gallery (Building A, 2nd Level). We look forward to seeing you there!
