“Experiences in Seeking Justice, Safety, and Support on Campus After Encountering Gender-Based Violence”.
Requirements to Participate;
(1) Did you ever attend the University of Arizona?
(2) Are you a person of color and/or part of the LGBTQ+ community?
(3) Have you ever experienced gender-based violence while being a student at the UofA (i.e. intimate partner violence, sexual assault, stalking/harassment)?
(4) Do you wish to talk about your experience in trying to seek justice, safety, or support?
If you answered YES to all these questions, then be part of this study and help create better support for student survivors on campus!
Gender-based violence includes sexual harassment, stalking, sexual assault, and relationship violence in the form of emotional, physical, mental, sexual, or financial abuse.
If you have experienced gender-based violence while a student at the UA, consider participating in this study to help create better support for future student survivors.
The goal of this study is to create a Handbook for UA Community that provides students, staff, and faculty with practical advice on how to provide support for student survivors in lieu of any policy changes.
With the help of other survivors (like yourself) this handbook will be filled with artwork inspired by survivors’ stories, and advice for the UA campus in terms of Do’s and Don’ts of providing supporting to students, helping them find a sense of safety, and seeking justice when that is their goal.
You will be compensated in the form of a $22 gift card for your time (Target, Amazon, Safeway, or Fry's).
Interviews will be conducted over Zoom or Phone.
You WILL NOT be asked to speak about the violence you experienced. You WILL be asked about where you found support as a student and what would have made the experience better.
