From Arizona to the World Stage: Celebrating Maxwell Moser’s Mandarin Journey
Congratulations to Maxwell Moser, a student at Higley High School, on advancing to the Chinese Bridge World Competition!
During his high school summers, Maxwell received federal scholarships to participate in the University of Arizona STARTALK Program, where he continued developing his Chinese language and cultural knowledge. His broader Mandarin learning journey also includes six years of Mandarin Dual Language Immersion, continued study in the Higley Unified School District, and participation in programs organized by the Arizona Chinese Language Teachers Association. Through these experiences, he advanced from the state level to regional competition and ultimately to the world stage.
Beyond competition, Maxwell has also used his language and cultural experiences to engage with the local community and help promote Chinese language and cultural exchange.
We are especially proud to see a UA STARTALK participant reach this exciting international milestone. His story shows how sustained language learning can lead to academic growth, international opportunities, community engagement, and meaningful cross-cultural connections.
