Southern Arizona Mentoring Coalition

Southern Arizona Mentoring Coalition The Coalition was founded to encourage local mentoring organizations to work together in common cause. Don is also the founder of Mentoring Tucson's Kids.

The Southern Arizona Mentoring Coalition was founded in 2005 by don McNeill. Southern Arizona has thousands of children who are in need of mentors. Unfortunately, there are not as many adults willing to become mentors. The coalition meets monthly. This gives members an opportunity to share information and resources. It is also an opportunity for us to communicate our needs, goals and obstacles. Ev

ery member organizaton and member is encouraged to support each other as we seek to improve the lives of our children. We work in partnership and put aside any differences in order to better serve our most vulnerable population and most precious resource. In addition to meeting, collaborating and supporting each other, the Southern Arizona Mentoring Coalition also is preparing to become a regulatory agency. This will allow us to share with parents information regarding evidenced based best practices in the aea of mentoring and whcih organizations are following best practices.
