2026 AZ-HOPE Bridge!

We are about halfway through the Bridge program! Our students have had the opportunity to explore so many different health careers and getting to hear from our various medical experts including: pharmacy, psychiatry, PA, and many more! As well exploring the students have the opportunity to take a course focused on transitioning to the UA and a public health course.

We can’t wait to see what the rest of the program has in store for the students!❤️

2026 Med-Start Closing Ceremony 🎉

We are so proud of all our Med-Start students this year! Through the closing ceremony we had a chance to hear from Dr. Jenifer Barton who gave inspiring words to the students and their families, our med start instructors had the opportunity to showcase certain students who showed exceptional work in their classes for individual class awards and received their certificate of completion.

Our wonderful counselor Felicia Zhang received this year’s Duval Award for her care and dedication to our students and the Med-Start mission!❤️

Med-Start 2026 photo dump!📸

The students had so much fun and learned so much. During these six weeks of Med-Start toured the University of Arizona R. Ken Coit College of Pharmacy, College of Nursing, Zuckerman College of Public Health, College of Medicine-Tucson, and the College of Veterinary Medicine.

In addition Med-Start Students traveled to the UA College of Medicine-Phoenix Campus, Arizona State University, Midwestern University, Grand Canyon University, A.T. Still University, and Gila River Health Care. During the visits, students had the opportunity to participate at hands-on health sessions. The activities included viewing of digital and live human cadaver, dissection of sheep hearts, suturing, pharmacy compounding of lip balm, anesthesia, dialysis, EMS, intubation, midwifery and ultrasound techniques.

Our office hosted a beautiful Traditional Honoring Ceremony for UAHS graduates by Pete Flores and Dr. Carlos Gonzales of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe. The ceremony brought together graduating students from health sciences, their families, and the campus community for a traditional blessing to honor their educational journey and a new beginning in their professional journey as healers in the community.
