R E M E M B R A N C E

Today, family and friends gather in person, in spirit and in prayer to celebrate the life and legacy of Brother Mikel Dale Spencer, who transitioned from this life on July 10, 2026.

Brother Spencer's story was woven into our Arizona sisterhood. Before he was even initiated into Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated through the Alpha Epsilon Sigma Chapter in Phoenix, he was a member of the Zeta Male Network, showing up early, staying late, lifting boxes, building floats with our undergrads, and serving as an ever-present companion to Soror Patricia Spencer, Immediate Past Arizona State Director, at every important event. Whatever was needed to ensure that Zeta was successful, Brother Spencer was there. He went on to reactivate and lead the Lambda Kappa Sigma Chapter in Tucson, and later served his fraternity as Western Region Director of Sigma Zeta Relations amongst other Sigma roles.

He was also a devoted husband and father, a twenty-four-year Army veteran and Bronze Star recipient, and a proud graduate of Northern Arizona University. To so many, he was simply a mentor, a friend, and a Frat who showed up, often without being asked.

As the family and our sisterhood gather for his memorial service today, we ask that you hold Soror Patricia Spencer, Annastasia, Sebastian, Trey, and Dayna, his brother Jason and the rest of the Spencer Family, in your hearts and your prayers.

His light does not go out, it is passed on, in every act of service done in his name.

The Brothers of The LKS and Tau Omicron Sigma Chapter, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc 1914 Chapters were proud to volunteer their time at The Dunbar Pavilion for their annual “Back to School” event. The ABC group organized the handing out of hundreds of backpacks loaded with school supplies and 42 BRAND NEW LAPTOPS to local kids!!! It was an amazing event!!! 💙🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾🕊️
