Dr. Cecelia Nails-Palmer, a survivor of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre, served as TU's first black faculty. As an Associate Profossor of English Education from 1970 - 1980, she paved the way for future black faculty and students at the university. Dr. Nails-Palmer was also instrumental in establishing TU's Theta Xi Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

The Black Alumni Leadership Council congratulates Thomas Porter (BSBA ’14), Land Negotiator Advisor at Oxy, on being honored this evening as the 2023 Fast Track Alumnus at the Collins College of Business Graduation Reception and Awards Ceremony.

This award is given to recent graduates within the last ten years who have had an accelerated career path and have emerged as early leaders in their professional and civic endeavors.
