Brava 👏!

A standing ovation for TU School of Music alumna Abigail Raiford (BM '17), who spent her summer at the prestigious Merola Opera Program in San Francisco.

Chosen as one of only 27 artists from more than 1,500 applicants worldwide, Raiford spent 12 weeks honing her craft through intensive coaching and performances. The program recently wrapped up on August 15 with the Merola Grand Finale, a vibrant showcase of participant’s technical skill and artistic growth.

"My time at the Merola Opera Program this summer was truly transformative," she said. "Having everything culminate in the Merola Grand Finale on the War Memorial Opera House stage in San Francisco was breathtaking."

🥁 Congratulations to the University of Tulsa Percussion Ensemble for being selected to perform as an Honor Ensemble at the Oklahoma Music Educator's Association conference this January! The group was chosen through a highly competitive audition process.

The UTulsa Percussion Ensemble was reestablished in Spring 2026 by Professor Chris Harris. We are very proud of the percussion students for putting in the hard work to achieve this recognition in such a short amount of time.

🎶 This week, we welcomed high school students from across the Tulsa area for the 2026 All-State Choral Camp! The camp provides students with work on their All-State music, rehearsals and performances of choral music, and solo vocal opportunities. They were joined by clinician Mindy Bettridge - Director of Choral Music at Owasso High School, and vocal teachers Meray Boustani, Dr. Kim Childs, and Brady McElligott.
