Earlier this month, Dr. Amber Beisly, Heather Ross, and Darshani Abeyrathna proudly represented the OU–Tulsa Early Childhood Education program at the Annual KEY Conference at the University of Oklahoma!
Their presentation highlighted innovative approaches to early mathematics learning, using creative materials like loose parts paired with intentional instructional strategies and thoughtfully integrated technology. They demonstrated how loose parts can be meaningfully embedded into math instruction—and how technology can transform children’s play into engaging, game‑based, and visual storytelling experiences.
Their work reflects a strong commitment to innovation, creativity, and excellence in early childhood mathematics education and contributes to forward‑thinking practices that support young learners.
