What does it take to fly the largest aircraft in the U.S. Air Force inventory? ✈️

Meet the C-5M Super Galaxy - a massive aircraft built to move oversized cargo around the world. With loading access at both the nose and tail, 28 wheels and five landing gear assemblies, its size alone is impressive. But what’s it like to actually fly one?

We caught up with C-5M pilot, Lieutenant Sosa, to find out how carrying a heavy load changes the way the aircraft handles, and how its advanced systems help pilots manage a mission of this scale.

Go behind the controls & get an inside look at what it takes to fly this giant of the skies! 👇

An aircraft engine inspection starts with knowing what to look for. 🔧

At our Tulsa campus, aviation maintenance technology students get a closer look at engine components as part of their hands-on training. Working with the equipment helps connect what they study for in the classroom to the inspection work they practice in the lab.

Take a behind the scenes look at a piece of what students do in this lab👇

An open cockpit, a breeze in your face, and a view that reaches back to the earliest days of flight. ✈️

At Oshkosh, we met with Wright B Flyer Inc. for a closer look at an aircraft built to preserve the experience of flying a Wright flyer. The design recalls the Model B, which moved the elevator to the rear in 1910, while this aircraft uses modern materials, a Lycoming IO-390 engine, and current avionics.

It is a fascinating connection between early aircraft design and the systems pilots use today. Come take a look! 👇

When you think NASA, your mind probably goes straight to space, but the first “A” in NASA stands for Aeronautics. ✈️🚀

For , we’re taking another look at NASA’s X-59, an experimental aircraft designed to help researchers better understand how quieter supersonic flight could shape the future of aviation.

NASA’s work in aeronautics continues to explore what’s possible in flight, from aircraft design and engineering to technologies aimed at changing how we travel through the skies.

Take a closer look at the X-59 and the aviation research happening behind the NASA name. 👇

The P-51 Mustang is one of the most recognizable aircraft in aviation history. ✈️

Developed during World War II, the P-51 became known for its speed, maneuverability and impressive range — capabilities made possible by thoughtful engineering and a powerful Rolls-Royce-designed Merlin V-12 engine.

Take a closer look at some of the features behind this legendary aircraft, from its liquid-cooled engine and streamlined design to its distinctive canopy and extended-range fuel system.

Decades later, the P-51 remains an incredible example of aviation engineering and a fascinating piece of aviation history.

The Allegiant Altitude Pilot Pathway has officially taken flight at Spartan College in Tulsa! ✈️

On Wednesday, more than 200 Spartan flight students and certified flight instructors (CFIs) packed our hangar at Tulsa Riverside Airport for the launch of the pathway. The evening included a program overview, a look at eligibility and benefits, remarks from leadership, an open Q&A, and a catered dinner.

The Altitude Pilot Pathway gives pilots who hold an FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate a structured way to build a relationship with Allegiant Air.

The week continues with professional development seminars led by Allegiant's Josh Grzywa and Justin Wegenke, covering how to present yourself as a professional pilot and how airline seniority works. On Friday, we'll hold a ribbon-cutting with Spartan and Allegiant leadership to welcome our first Tulsa cohort of CFIs into the pathway.

Thank you to our partners at Allegiant Air for investing in the next generation of airline pilots. Spartan has been training aviation professionals since 1928, and this is an exciting new chapter for our Tulsa flight program.
