The Mechanical Engineering Department has 9 tenure track professors, a department assistant, two research post docs, and two additional research personnel. The faculty excel in teaching and research with over 25 teaching awards, including three national awards, 20 best paper awards, 6 Fellow awards from international technical societies, and in excess of $2 million per year in external research fu

nding. In recent years, students have received 11 first and second place awards for their Senior Design Projects at national competitions.
