I am so sorry to report that our friend and classmate Keith Brashier passed away over the weekend. Keith was one of the good guys, and he will be greatly missed. I’ll try to post arrangements here when I learn about them. Please keep Keith’s family, law partners, and all who love him in your thoughts.

Classmates: Professor Walthall is retiring this year, and his family is putting together a video tribute. Their message is below, along with a link to submit your memories.

Professor Walthall is finally retiring! In the time of Covid, we aren’t sure what, if any public celebration there will be, so his children wanted to collect video memories for him. If you had him at Alabama, Cumberland, Bar-Bri or at any of the other numerous schools he found his way to, please consider recording a video. It can be memory, an impression of that amazing Walthall accent or whatever comes to mind. He will be so tickled! Feel free to share the link with classmates, but it’s a secret so please don’t tell him

We're creating a personalizedRetirement video montage for Professor Walthall. We'd like you to be a part of it. Please go to https://share.vidday.com/r-hr2yqb to record or submit your message for Professor Walthall before Fri, Mar 19, 2021 6:51 PM CDT. Thanks!

The Hugh F. Culverhouse Jr. School of Law at The University of Alabama is ranked 25th among the nation’s top law schools, according to U.S. News & World Report’s annual “Best Graduate Schools” rankings for 2020. This marks the eighth consecutive year that Alabama’s Law School has been ranked in the Top 30 law schools in the nation. The Law School ranked eighth among public law schools in this year’s survey.

"I have long believed that, if we attend to those things that enhance the quality of life within the School of Law, good things will follow," said Mark E. Brandon, Dean of the Law School. "It's nice to see this philosophy affirmed in the most recent release from U.S. News."

The U.S. News rankings of 192 law schools fully accredited by the American Bar Association are based on a weighted average of the 12 measures, including quality assessment, selectivity, and placement success. Data were collected in fall 2018 and early 2019.
