The UT Tyler School of Performing Arts, a community of recognized artists and professionals representing music, provides a quality environment where students develop knowledge, skills and professionalism to work as artists. The School of Performing Arts offers the bachelor of music degree and bachelor of arts degree in music. Courses leading to teacher certification also are offered. The teacher-s

tudent ratio is kept low to ensure that students and faculty mentors have abundant opportunities to interact. Students learn from experienced, active professors whose work represents a diversity of aesthetic and research interests. The faculty is dedicated to bringing students a broad diversity of musical experiences through challenging, engaging course work, applied study, solo and ensemble performance, practical experience and a variety of recital and concert opportunities. UT Tyler student performance opportunities include the Patriot Singers, University Chorale, Wind Ensemble, Tyler Community Band, Jazz Ensemble, Jazz Combo, chamber ensembles, opera and musical theatre.
