Welcome back to campus from TRiO Student Support Services.

This past week, returning SSS students joined us for 'Welcome Back', an information session covering program requirements, important dates, and the many benefits of being part of SSS.

The sessions were held in the SSS Resource Lab, with half of the students attending in person and half joining virtually via Zoom. We loved seeing so many familiar faces back on campus!

Workshop Season begins in September, so get ready for an eventful semester filled with learning, support, and opportunities.

Congrats, Diamond! She is also a member of TRIO!

Congratulations to SCC Student Diamond Pearl (with her daughter Harper). Diamond is pictured with her certificate as the Summer Early Registration Winner. Through the Vice President of Student Affairs’ Early Registration Incentive Initiative, her books and consumable supplies for the Summer 2026 semester have been covered.

Diamond's name was selected during the drawing held on Friday, May 22. She will also have another opportunity to be entered into the Fall 2026 Early Registration Drawing, which will take place on Friday, August 7. Students who register early for their Fall 2026 classes are automatically entered for a chance to win in the August drawing.

The Early Registration Incentive Initiative encourages students to register early, secure the classes they need, and take advantage of opportunities for additional financial support.

Road Trip!

SSS Academic Retention Specialist Rachel Hannan recently took SSS students Chasidy Vaughn and Joseph Rulevish to the SIU Aquarium along with bus driver Curtis Salley.

They saw sturgeon and clownfish, learned about aquatic careers, and even visited the fermentation lab.

It was a great trip!
