Join the Center for History, Politics, and Policy TODAY for a viewing party for the Emmy-nominated film series, “It Happened Here: New Jersey.” The party will be held in Room L-116 of the Nancy Thompson Library from 3:15 – 4:30pm. Light refreshments will be served.

“It Happened Here: New Jersey” is Kean University’s gift to the State of New Jersey in honor of its 350th birthday earlier last year. The video series is a collection of twenty-nine short films about famous New Jerseyans and the important innovations that began here in the Garden State. The series is narrated by New Jersey native and NBC co-anchor Willie Geist.

The New York Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences nominated the series for “Best Nostalgia Program.” Several members of the Kean community were cited in the nomination: Audrey Kelly, executive director of the Kean Board of Trustees, Dr. Jonathan Mercantini, chair of the History Department, and Dr. Terry Golway, director of the Center for History, Politics, and Policy. The Emmy winners will be announced on Saturday night.
