Today is Ernest Hemingway's Birthday!
To celebrate, here is some fun trivia about the author's life:
-He survived 2 plane crashes within 2 days.
-Known for his concise writing, he averaged 500 words a day.
-During WWI, he was a volunteer ambulance driver for the Red Cross.
-He loved polydactyl felines (cats born with extra toes). The ancestors of his cats still live in the Hemingway estate in Key West.

Ready your shades! Here more eco-friendly Summer vacation tips!

1. Consider a “stay-cation” or local vacation for lower emissions impact.
2. Use reusable utensils for picnics and bbqs.
3. Try plant-based meals for lower greenhouse gases and water consumption compared to meat. Bonus points for cold dishes such as salads or dips.

Happy National Typewriter Day! To celebrate, here is some trivia about the typewriter:

-On June 23rd 1868, the first typewriter was awarded.
-The average person types about 40 words per minute.
-There is a musical group known as The Typewriter Orchestra uses the typewriters as their instruments choice.
-Dozens of pages of Jack Torrance's "mad" manuscript in The Shining (1980) was manually by director Stanley Kubrick's assistant.
-Tom Hanks owns over 250 typewriters!
-Ray Bradbury wrote the first draft of Fahrenheit 451 on a coin-operated typewriter. It cost him $9.80!
-Jack London once said "If typewriter hadn't been invented by the time I began to write, I doubt if the world would ever have heard of Jack London." This was due to his struggles with by hand.
