Both members are attending two distinct study abroad programs through their respective universities in Michigan! One program is emphasizing engineering and technology and the other immersing itself in Japan’s modern and contemporary visual culture. Meet Lesley Lopez-Covarrubias (Gamma Omicron, Spring 2025), who is paving the way in the dental industry! She is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Public Health – Global Health at the University of Washington Seattle, and has been accepted into the Harvard School of Dental Medicine's pre-dental mentorship program! harvard

Most recently, Lesley was awarded a two-year, $8,000 Undergraduate Research Fellowship through the University of Washington, where she will conduct faculty-mentored research examining how the availability of Spanish-speaking dental providers affects health outcomes and patient experience among bilingual and monolingual Spanish-speaking individuals in community clinic settings.

Not only is she excelling academically and professionally, but she is also breaking barriers in other areas in her life. In her free time, Lesley is a wrestling referee and recently became the FIRST latina women in WIAA history to have reffed high school state match! Bravo Lesley 👏

SURPRISE! We're got one more UG Highlight in store for the Spring 2026 semester. Eliana, the current Chapter Vice President of Delta Zeta Chapter, is a shining example of what it means to lead with purpose and passion. Despite crossing into the sisterhood just last semester, she has already achieved remarkable milestones. As the chapter’s Five Star Chair and Orientation Advisor, she has played a key role in advancing chapter excellence and fostering new collaborations that strengthen the chapter’s presence on campus. Beyond her sorority commitments, Eliana serves as the President and Founder of the Dominican Student Alliance, demonstrating her dedication to cultural advocacy and community building. Her recent induction into Order of Omega further reflects her commitment to academic excellence and leadership. Eliana truly embodies the Universal Woman.
