🔹Hispanic Heritage Month recognizes and celebrates the significant contributions Latino Americans tracing their roots to Spain, Mexico, Central America, South America, and the Spanish-speaking nations of the Caribbean have made to American society and culture.

🔹The observance began in 1968 as National Hispanic Heritage Week and was later expanded into a monthlong celebration. Each year, Hispanic Heritage Month is recognized from September 15 through October 15, a period that holds deep historical and cultural significance for many Latin American communities.

🔹Today and always, take a moment to recognize and celebrate the histories, cultures, & impacts of generations of Latino, Hispanic, & Latinx-identified folks who have enriched, and continue to enrich, our communities, our country, and the world 🎉

🔹 On September 11, 2001, our nation experienced a tragedy that forever changed the course of history.

Today, 2️⃣5️⃣ years later, we remember the 2,996 lives lost and the countless families, friends, and communities whose lives were forever changed by the devastating attacks of that day.

🔹 We remember those who went to work that morning and never returned home. We remember those aboard the planes whose journeys never reached their destinations. We remember the first responders who rushed into unimaginable danger, many making the ultimate sacrifice in an effort to save others.

🔹 We remember the fear, the heartbreak, and the profound loss felt across our nation. We also remember the courage, compassion, and humanity shown in the face of unimaginable tragedy.

2️⃣5️⃣ years may have passed, but time does not erase the lives that were lost or the pain carried by those left behind🌹

🔹 Every June, we come together to honor the past, celebrate the present, and fight for a more inclusive future.

🔹 Pride Month commemorates the Stonewall Riots of June 28, 1969, when LGBTQ+ individuals at the Stonewall Inn in NYC courageously resisted police brutality and discrimination. That moment sparked a global movement for LGBTQ+ civil rights 🏳️‍🌈

🔹 57 years later, we continue to celebrate Pride as a powerful reminder of how far we’ve come, and how far we still have to go.

🔹 True allyship starts with awareness. By learning about the intersectional identities and lived experiences within the LGBTQ+ community, we create space for everyone to be seen, heard, and valued.
