Did our Honors Jaguars escape?

Last Friday, our Honors Jaguars left the classroom for a little adventure at Escapology, then enjoyed good food and great company at Uncle Julio's!

A little teamwork, a few challenges, and plenty of opportunities to connect beyond the classroom.

Because the Honors experience is more than academics. It's about the people and memories we make along the way!

Honors Jaguars, quick check-in.

We’re well into the semester, so…how are you, really?

Not your grades.
Not your assignments.
Not that to-do list that somehow keeps growing.

YOU.

If you had to describe how you’re doing right now in one word, what would it be?

Focused? Tired? Proud? Overwhelmed? Motivated? Somewhere in between?

Drop your word in the comments. No right answers, we’re just checking in.

We mixed. We mingled. And we may or may not have gotten a little too serious about Uno.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by our Honors Mix & Mingle!

There was pizza, games, great conversation, and a much-needed break from Blackboard.

And apparently, Pierre found himself a pretty good seat for all the action.
We loved seeing everyone who came out!

This could be us next Friday!

A little look back at last fall’s Honors Retreat because... we’re almost ready to do it again!

Good food, plenty of laughs, and a chance to get out of the classroom and enjoy each other’s company for a bit.

This year, we’re heading to Escapology + Uncle Julio’s on Friday, October 9.

Now for the important question...

Which escape room are you choosing? And WHO are you trusting to help you get out?!

Because choose wisely. That’s all we’re saying.

Registration closes Monday, October 5, so if you haven’t grabbed your spot yet, check your Honors College Newsletter for the registration link.

See you at Retreat!

Well... looks like we have someone to introduce.

Meet Pierre, the Honors College penguin!

Pierre will be making his way around GovState, checking out spaces, opportunities, and resources along the way.

Naturally, his first stop had to be home: the Honors College Lounge.

Haven’t checked out the lounge lately?

It’s a great place to study quietly, relax between classes, or just hang out for a bit.

Need access? Email [email protected].

Pierre is already planning his next adventure, but we need your help...

Where should he go next?
And please don’t send Pierre anywhere he’s not supposed to be. 😂

A little break from Blackboard never hurt anybody! And lucky for you, Mix & Mingle is almost here.

Come hang out, connect with fellow Honors students, and enjoy some time away from assignments, deadlines, and whatever Blackboard has going on this week.

Current Honors students: Check the Honors College Newsletter and Honors College communications for location and additional details.

See you there!

A great start to Fall 2026!

The GovState Honors College enjoyed connecting with students during the Welcome Week Block Party & Resource Fair!

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our table, learned more about the Honors College, and helped make the event such a great way to begin the semester.
We’re excited for everything ahead this year.
