At Penn State’s Spend A Summer Day, we hosted over 300 students and their families, over the course of five days, and had a blast! Our open house allowed them to meet with faculty, advisers, and current Nursing students. There was an opportunity to push IV fluids into a Sim Manikin and even assist in a “birth”. Good times.

Congratulations to Emily Campbell, BSN, RN, who's spending her summer at the Pennsylvania House of Representatives!

Emily, a student in our Doctor of Nursing Practice – Leadership program, was selected for a Pennsylvania House Fellowship, where she will build on the health policy analysis skills she has developed through her DNP project, Improving Mental Health Examination: A Health Policy Initiative.

Through the fellowship, Emily will get an inside look at how bills are drafted, analyzed, and sponsored. She said the experience supports her goal of becoming a health policy leader.
