Innovation Park is hosting two more blood drives at the Technology Center, and additional blood and platelet drives are scheduled at the Red Cross donation center in Downtown State College.

Drives are also scheduled throughout the region. To find an upcoming blood drive near you, visit RedCross.org and simply search by your zip code. It is important for all donors to make an appointment in advance. Pre-registering through the Red Cross Rapid Pass is also recommended.

Urgent Blood Drives Scheduled at Innovation Park Technology Center

The Red Cross and other blood banks have had to cancel thousands of blood drives leaving thousands of units uncollected. The blood supply is experiencing a SEVERE shortage because of the Coronavirus outbreak. This message is a plea to all healthy individuals to donate blood in the days, weeks and months ahead!

Appointments are highly recommended. Go to redcrossblood.org and search by zip code 16802 to find the drive and make an appointment. You can also do so on the Red Cross Blood Donor App.

Donating blood is safe and takes only a little of your time. Blood donation centers can facilitate the safe donation of blood because they are skilled in infection control practices and already have procedures in place to prevent the spread of infections. Blood donation centers always take steps to prevent staff and donors who are not feeling well or who have a fever from reaching the donor area, and they are now taking additional social distancing precautions wherever possible, consistent with the President’s Coronavirus Guidelines for America.

Please give the lifesaving gift of a blood donation now, when it’s needed most.

“Once refined, the class assistant can help professors keep track of class participation and activities and grading students in class in real time,” Penn State Beaver Information Sciences and Technology Instructor Ashu Kumar said.
