Penn State Women In Business Our mission is to increase the recruitment and retention of women students in the Smeal College of B Women in Business (WIB) began in October of 1997.

During the spring semester of 1998, WIB received its official charter from the University. Starting out with just a membership of seven (the entire executive board), WIB has grown enormously over the past nine years, and now boasts over 300 members. WIB welcomes both male and female undergraduate students of all major into the organization. Women In Business's foundation for all events and programs are based around our Four pillars Community Service, Leadership, Networking, and Professional Development.

Internship Spotlight Thursday ✨

Olivia is a Junior majoring in Accounting with a minor in Business Law! This summer, Olivia took her skills beyond Penn State as a Credit Risk Intern at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, where she gained hands-on experience in the banking and financial services industry.

From analyzing financial institution data to connecting with professionals across the Bank, Olivia explored the many areas that contribute to banking supervision and risk management. We’re excited to celebrate all she accomplished this summer!

Emma is a senior majoring in Finance with a minor in International Business! As an Active Member, Gold Member, and Events WIBtern for Spring 2026, Emma has made the most of her WIB experience.

We had such an amazing time in New York and are so grateful to Crenshaw Associates, Tapestry, and Excel for hosting us during the duration of our visit.

This program allows you to shadow one of the Executive Board Directors and work alongside an amazing team of other fellow WIBterns. So many members of our Executive Board and Chairs start as WIBterns, and it’s a great way to become more involved with WIB and gain valuable leadership skills to add to your resume and skill set.

Applications are open for WIB’s 2026 New York City Corporate Trip! 🍎

During this trip, we will join CEO of Crenshaw Associates and Women in Business Alumni Advisor Barb Bridendolph in New York City for an immersive business education experience. This trip offers an exceptional opportunity to gain valuable insights on transitioning into the corporate world and working within various business sectors.

This year’s trip will take place from Thursday, October 1st – Saturday, October 3rd. Attendees will have the opportunity to request class excuses. Transportation and lodging will be provided at no charge. Detailed agendas will be provided closer to the date of the trip.

✨Note only past gold members or past/present leadership are invited to apply. Please submit applications by 11:59 P.M. September 13th, 2026 to be considered.
