As part of the American 250 & Beyond campaign, our PUBPL 305 students have created profiles of Centre County public service leaders who strengthen our community every day.

⭐ Amy Farkas, Township Manager of Patton Township, Centre County, Pennsylvania

⭐ Ezra Nanes, Mayor of the Borough of State College

⭐ Amber Concepcion, Centre County Government Commissioner and Vice Chair

These profiles showcase how our leadership's decisions impact thousands of residents daily, right here in our own community.

These student-created exhibits, shared throughout the Penn State College of the Liberal Arts, are part of a coordinated national campaign highlighting public service careers and inspiring the next generation of civic leaders.

🎓 Huge congratulations to our students for their work documenting the work and dedication of our local public servants!

🏛️ We took more than 60 Penn State students to Harrisburg on October 29 for an inspiring day of career exploration and networking!

Our annual Harrisburg Career Exploration Day connected Penn State College of the Liberal Arts students, Master of Public Policy students, and members of Penn State Lion Caucus, the Penn State Public Policy Association, and Next Generation Leadership Academy with Pennsylvania legislators, government professionals, and policy experts.

"Events like the Harrisburg Career Exploration Day are essential to prepare our students for impactful careers," said Lilliard Richardson, Director of the Penn State School of Public Policy. "By connecting students directly with legislators, government professionals, and young alumni working in the field, we're ensuring they graduate with both the knowledge and the professional networks needed to make a difference in public service."

Thank you to the Liberal Arts Career Enrichment Network for co-sponsoring this valuable experience and to Penn State Harrisburg's School of Public Affairs for joining us!
