🇺🇸 The Penn State Military Appreciation Week schedule of events has been released! Please check out the article and register for the events that you would like to attend. Let's make this the most well attended Military Appreciation Week ever!

Penn State will honor service members, veterans and military families with events Nov. 7-14 during its 15th annual Military Appreciation Week, commemorating the 35th anniversary of the end of the Gulf War.

This TTD we did a scavenger hunt on campus for both student veterans/guard/active/reserve and student military connected family members (total 2 students from each branch). We set the students out across campus to find a few items that they had to take a selfie with to prove they found it. They had 48 hours to complete the task. Each branch could have received two points, but the branch that both students turned in their pictures the fastest, finished first and got a bonus point. Congrats to the Navy for getting the bonus point. About halfway through the semester and the top three are pretty close. Come back in two weeks to see who gets the points for our next challenge.

Hosted by Penn State and Walmart, the annual Military Appreciation Tailgate features free food, entertainment, and a resource fair for active-duty, Guard, and Reserve military members, veterans, and their families, as well as Gold Star families.

Tuesday Throw Down saw the Army gain a few points on the Marine Corps. This week's challenge was Name the OVP Staff Member. So, five staff members were chosen and a student from each of the branches had to know the first name and first initial of the last name. If the student got three staff members and their full last name correct, they would have received a bonus. At the end of this challenge, we the staff realized we need to get our faces and names out to the student population better. Tune in next time (two weeks) to see what new challenge we can come up with.
