Penn State’s Saturday Art Lab will take place on the following dates, from 9:00am to 11:00am:

The Arts in Baltimore County Public Schools are growing!

On May 2nd from 3-6pm we will host a Visual Arts teacher recruitment event. Candidates are invited to bring their resume and portfolio and come to learn about the possibilities of working in this dynamic and growing district. The Office of Visual Arts, school based leaders and human resources professionals will be on hand to answer questions and conduct screening interviews.

Faculty Announcement: School of Visual Arts, The Pennsylvania State University (http://sova.psu.edu/arted) seeks an Assistant Professor of Art Education who is expanding possibilities of research and pedagogy in art education. This is a full-time (nine-month), tenure-track position. Ph.D. or Ed.D. required. The successful candidate will demonstrate professional and scholarly activity through an active and highly visible research agenda that includes publications and presentations, leadership in advocacy roles, and a potential for securing external funding. Preference is given to applicants who demonstrate successful experience teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate art education students, and experience teaching in PreK-12 schools, community-based organizations, or cultural institutions. In addition, the successful candidate should expect to balance a robust research agenda with teaching and leadership in university, national, and international service. Moreover, the successful candidate would contribute to the program’s collective values of sensitivity to equity and inclusion and its mission of social responsibility. The Art Education Program’s current focus is on intersections among and transdisciplinary approaches to visual culture, childhood and youth studies, digital and mobile studies, feminist and critical pedagogies, critical race theory, histories of art education, curriculum studies, disability studies, environmental studies, cultural and diaspora studies, art teacher education, studio experience, arts-based research, and contemporary theories. This position will start August 2018. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Screening will begin January 15, and continue until a suitable candidate is identified.
