Florida State College of Law Black Alumni Network To increase networking and idea sharing among Black students, alumni, faculty and staff at the College of Law.

Mission
The Florida State University College of Law Black Alumni Network (the “Network”) empowers and supports the Black students, alumni, faculty and staff of the Florida State University College of Law (the “College of Law”) in order to assist those individuals and the College of Law as a whole in achieving their full potential. Vision
The Network envisions a College of Law on the forefront of a

ddressing the historic marginalization of Black people, including their historical underrepresentation in the practice of law, through targeted support of Black students, alumni, faculty and staff of the College of Law. Goals
Facilitate a name change for the College of Law to a name that respects the historical contributions of Black people to the College of Law’s success and represents the College of Law’s commitment to diversity and inclusion. To provide direct support to Black students, alumni, faculty and staff of the College of Law through recruitment, scholarships, hiring and retention. To directly support the College of Law in its efforts to positively effect the foregoing goals. How To Get Involved

BAN wishes to congratulate our alum and BAN member Alexcia Cox, on her recent swearing in as State Attorney of Palm Beach County. Alum Cox further distinguishes herself as the first woman and first Black to hold such position. Congratulations on your historic victory and swearing in! You represent BAN well, State Attorney Cox!

Special thanks to for hosting us on Friday and to our special panelists today Judge Augustus Aikens and Attorneys Bruce Meeks, and A. Mireille Fall Fry who walked us through the ages at FSU. And got another win to top it all off! Great collaboration with ! Check our stories for a glimpse of all the fun! Let’s run it back in ‘25!

The esteemed Honorable Augustus D. Aikens, Jr., a proud alum of Florida State College of Law from the class of 1974, is being honored today for his remarkable 50 years of service!

He will also be participating as a panelist in BAN’s FSU Law: Through the Ages Anniversary Celebration Panel. If you’re able, we invite you to join us in celebrating Judge Aikens Jr. and his outstanding contributions and commitment to the legal community.

On Saturday, Judge Aikens will join us in headlining a fantastic group of lawyers assembled for a panel discussion—“FSU Law—Through the Ages”. Join us in Room 101 of the College of Law main building at 10am!
