|| Excel Date Function With Example Formulas ||

The Excel DATE function combines three different numbers into a date format, i.g. MM/DD/YY. If your date is contained in a three different columns, then this function can help you to combine them into one.
A couple of interesting things you need to know while using the DATE function in Excel, it can handle the funny numbers like 0 and greater than 31. If you look into the calendar there are no days like 0 or 32, 33, 34 and so on, and the same thing for the month the numbers should be 1-12, you have to be very careful when you are typing in the day and month in the formula. Yes, you are right, even the kids know how many days and months in the calendar. 😉 Even though sometimes we all make mistakes isn’t it? http://excellovers.com/excel-date-function-example-formulas.html #

|| Excel COUPDAYBS Function With Example Formulas ||

The Excel COUPDAYBS function returns the number of the days from the beginning of the coupon period to the settlement date. Always remember that the BS stands for (Beginning of the coupon period to the Settlement date).
Note: The date should be entered by using the DATE function or the date cells for should be formatted as date otherwise you may end up with an errors in formula.

You can also enter the serial number without separator (,) for the date but again you will have to format the cell into date formatting, Excel stores dates as sequential serial numbers so they can be used in calculations. By default, January 1, 1900 is serial number 1, and April 5, 2016 is serial number 42465 because it is 42,465 days after January 1, 1900.

The Excel COUNTIF function is one of the statistical function, which counts the number of cells that meet criteria within the selected range.

Please, note that Excel COUNTIF function does not directly support data or ranges based on the color, background color or cell formatting. To do this you will have to create a UDFs (User Defined Functions) using the VBA Visual Basic Application, I will write the contents in the near future to teach you how to create your own UDFs in Excel.

The Excel COUNTBLANK function counts an empty cell in a specified range of cells. It can be used in any Excel data where you want to count those blank cells. Please note that sometimes it includes the cells with formulas which return “” (empty text) in COUNTBLANK function, if it does then you need to turn off the iterative calculation. But in Excel 2013 I don’t see any errors at all, it runs well either on or off.
Here is the steps to turn off the iterative calculation.
