UPD officers completed a 40-hour crisis-intervention course through the Office of Mental Health — training that covers de-escalation techniques, su***de prevention, crisis assessment, and connecting people to community services to promote safer, more compassionate responses.

This morning, our K9 Unit assisted the Albany Police Department during Sail 250 Albany! We were also blessed with a tour of the active-duty U.S. Navy ship USS Marinette. 🇺🇸

This week, the University at Buffalo Police Department is proud to host a Bike Patrol Training School, welcoming 32 law enforcement officers from agencies across the region.

From traffic enforcement and community policing to special events and rapid response, bicycle officers play a vital role in keeping our communities safe. So the next time you see your local police officer patrolling on a bike, there’s a good chance they received their training right here at the University at Buffalo.
