Through the efforts of students, community partners, faculty, and staff, the CCE serves as a central

The Center for Community Engagement provides students community service opportunities related to academic coursework, showing students how one person can make a difference. Our community partnerships offer both one-time and ongoing service opportunities for students, faculty, and staff to engage in service in our surrounding community. Our Goals:

** To create and support community-based education

courses and meta-curricular community engagement projects wherby students can attain the knowledge skills, and motivations to become informed and involved citizens.

** To develop and maintain sustainable and reciprocal campus/community partnerships through collaborative projects and initiatives serving the needs of the larger community.

** To increase the institutional attention and commitment to service-learning and community engagement programs and initiatives.

** To create systems of support, reward, and recognition for the teaching, learning, and scholarship of service-learning and community engagement.

On June 10, the Office of Community Engagement and Partnership proudly celebrated two outstanding leaders whose dedication to service continues to make a lasting impact on our students and communities.

Congratulations to Krystal Woolston, recipient of the Presidential Excellence Award for Community Engagement (Staff), and Mikaela Guzman, recipient of an Honorable Mention for Service (Early Career).

Through their leadership and commitment to civic engagement, they have empowered students to lead with purpose, serve with compassion, and create meaningful change both on campus and beyond.

Each panelist brings a unique journey from navigating mental health in college to leading in their fields today. They will share their stories, challenges, and triumphs

This event, hosted by the Public Service Programs Community Action Alliance, is a campus-wide space designed for every student to learn, reflect, and grow.

A campus-wide discussion where mental and public health professionals open up about their experiences, growth, and how they balance it all.

Our first was a success! ✅

Because of your support, we’ve raised over $10,000 for Covenant House NJ to help end youth homelessness and donations are still open if you’d like to contribute.

For one night, we traded warm rooms and comfortable beds for a sleeping bag, cardboard, and a foggy 30° night. It was a powerful experience hearing stories, learning the realities through data, and seeing the incredible work Covenant House NJ does for youth experiencing homelessness.

Thank you to everyone who donated, shared, and supported this initiative.🫂

We’ve already surpassed our $5,000 goal and are currently at $7,231 in donations! A true reflection of the incredible Montclair campus community we’re so proud to be part of. The support from our on- and off-campus community has been powerful, generous, and deeply appreciated.

There’s still time to make an impact. Support our team and help us end youth homelessness with Covenant House NJ. Tomorrow is the day! 🌟

We are 3️⃣ days away for Covenant House NJ’s Sleepout: Women Unite!

With days away, we are planning what to bring and what not to bring. Need a quick guide, we got you covered.

Please be advised that pillows and blankets from home ARE NOT encouraged as this is meant to be a challenging experience. Indoor spaces will be provided to stay warm and for bathrooms.
