Faculty Friday! Prof. Callesano has been working diligently to contribute to a great lineup of courses to reach undergraduates and expose them to new opportunities with Spanish! Once developed, the intention is to offer the course every Fall and to offer SPAN 246 every Spring. This is in addition to SPAN 232, which also confers US Minority Cultures credit and is offered every Fall and Spring. ¡Felicidades, Profe!

HRI Graduate Fellow Gerson Morales Pérez (Spanish and Portuguese) is exploring that question in his dissertation, which turns to artists and writers whose work acts as resistance to erasure.

His work is mainly situated within experimental sociolinguistics paradigms, with interests in a range of topics such as sociolinguistic perception, social meaning, national identity, language attitudes, and Puerto Rican Spanish.
